Born in Berlin 1984, son of a Turkish immigrant family. Growing up in Germany and Turkey, graduating from high school in Istanbul, studying business administration in Berlin. Then discovers love for cinema with creative partner Johannes Duncker. Finishes studies at the Film Academy in Hamburg, winning the Student Academy Award. Since writing and directing feature films.

Isabel Coixet debuted with TOO OLD TO DIE YOUNG (San Sebastián New Directors, 1989) before achieving recognition with her second work, THINGS I NEVER TOLD YOU (1996). THE SECRET LIFE OF WORDS (2005) screened in Orizzonti at Venice and won the Goyas for Best Director and Best Original Score. She has competed in Berlin with MY LIFE WITHOUT ME (2003), ELEGY (2008), NOBODY WANTS THE NIGHT (2015) and ELISA & MARCELA (2019) and in Cannes with MAP OF THE SOUNDS OF TOKYO (2009). In 2018 THE BOOKSHOP landed the Goyas for Best Film, Director and Adapted Screenplay. She returned to San Sebastián Film Festival with SPAIN IN A DAY (TVE Screenings, 2016) and THE YELLOW CEILING (Official Selection, out of competition, 2022). Her last film UN AMOR just world premiered in Competition in San Sebastián.

Born in Rome in 1968, Matteo Garrone made in 1998 his first feature film, TERRA DI MEZZO, with his production company, Archimede.
In 2005 he was in competition at the Berlinale with PRIMO AMORE, which won the Silver Bear for best soundtrack.
In 2008, he directed GOMORRA, which won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, 5 EFA Awards, 7 David di Donatello and 2 Nastri d'Argento. The film was nominated as Best Foreign Film at the Oscars and entered the Golden Globes as well as receiving BAFTA and César nominations.
With REALITY (2012) he again won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, 3 David di Donatello and 3 Nastri d'Argento.
In 2018 DOGMAN was awarded the Palme d'Or for Best Actor, won 9 David di Donatello and 8 Nastri D'Argento and was nominated for the Oscars as Best Foreign Film.
In 2019 he brings PINOCCHIO to theatres winning two Oscar nominations for Best Make-up and Best Costume Design.
IO CAPITANO is his new film, presented at the 80th Venice Film Festival, winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director and the Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actor.
It competes for Italy as Best International Film for the Oscars.
